PROVIDING THE BEST BROTHERHOOD
IN THE NATION SINCE 1869

At Louisiana Tech University, we strive to mold True Gentlemen and supplement the college experience. We welcome you to learn more.

About

Epsilon-Gamma Chapter was installed on the campus of Louisiana Tech in a two-day round of activities on May 16-17, 1941. Forty-two former members of the Omega Kappa local were made Kappa Sigmas by initiating teams from the Epsilon Chapter at Centenary College and from the Alpha-Upsilon Chapter at Millsaps.

Since 1941, 1,788 men have been initiated into the Chapter’s history, including 1973 Man of the Year Joseph D. Waggoner Jr., representative of the U.S. Congress for the State of Louisiana. Brother Waggoner served on the Supreme Executive Committee from 1975-81, culminating in the highest elective office of the Fraternity as Worthy Grand Master.

Rush

Joining Kappa Sigma provides young men with a college career filled with a strong sense of brotherhood, growth through service and leadership, and the creation of lifelong friendships. Additionally, brothers are a part of a network of 320 chapters, comprised of over 220,000 members, across North America.

Kappa Sigma is focused on the four pillars of FELLOWSHIP, LEADERSHIP, SCHOLARSHIP, and SERVICE. As a values-based men’s Fraternity, Kappa Sigma strictly forbids hazing and fosters meaningful college experiences by offering progressive membership development and pledge education.

As a fellowship, the Fraternity is a proving ground to experiment with new ideas—a place where one can learn interpersonal skills as well as principles of management and government. It is a place that fosters leadership by example and academic growth, enhancing the scholastic missions of Louisiana Tech University.

By offering richly diverse experiences and bringing together men of different backgrounds, members gain a sense of duty and service to Louisiana Tech, the Fraternity, and the community at large.

Campaign

In 2021, Epsilon-Gamma launched the Building Our Forever Home Capital Campaign. With a goal of $1.75 million, we need alumni support to see this project through. The best way you can help is by pledging a multi-year commitment; this also makes a large gift more affordable for you!

For example, a five-year pledge of $5,000 is more within reach than you may think. Broken into monthly payments, this comes to only $83.33 a month, or about $2.74 per day. Additionally, by pledging $5,000 or more, your name will be prominently displayed on a plaque in the new Chapter House.

We chose to take on this capital campaign because a new Chapter House is vital to securing the future of Kappa Sigma at Louisiana Tech. We hope you will join your brothers in expressing your lifetime commitment to our brotherhood. Even if you are not in a position to make a multi-year commitment, please consider making a one-time donation. Gifts of any amount are helpful and appreciated.
